Andrew Gallacher is a recent graduate: University of Kent MA Fine Art.

He is an audio-painter, text-sculptor and image-wrangler.

Pounding Down Your Door (2017) uses animated text and a complex layered soundscape of voices to engage the viewer with a rhythmic script. It is both a narrative construct and a periphrastic assembly. Simultaneously and sequentially ominous, witty, playful, sinister, insistent and gentle. Fractional revelations and fragmentary meanings are erased, replaced and erased again.
Think: if Jenny Holzer and Barbara Kruger smoked crack together and turned a Maria Fusco text into a CBeebies video for dysfunctional grown-ups.

Pounding Down Your Door (2017) by Andrew Charleson Gallacher - HD Digital Video - 5mins

Getting round the lock.  Pounding down your door.  Beating round the bush.  Letting down your hair.
Whistling down the wind.   Looking down your nose.  Handing round a card.  Holding down a job.
Dreaming round your lies.  Bringing down the rain.  Being round the bend.   Writing down a loss.
Dancing round the town.  Pulling down your pants.  Hanging round your neck.  Falling down the well.
Taking on your form.  Going off the map.  Staying on the ledge.  Shaking  off your fear.
Rolling on the bed.  Putting on The Ritz.  Keeping off the grass.  Drawing on your arm.
Feeding off your pain.   Crying on the edge.   Walking off the hurt.  Kneeling on the ground.
Taking off your clothes.  Leaving on the light.  Licking off your plate.  Climbing on again.

“Symbols and myths speak out of the primordial, preconscious realm of the mind which is powerful and chaotic. Both symbol and myth are ways of bringing order and form into this chaos.”

“Good art wounds as well as delights. It must, because our defences against the truth are wound so tightly around us. But as art chips away at our defences, it also opens us to healing potentialities that transcend intellectual games and ego-preserving strategies.”
